Love. Tradition. Individuality. Conviction. Craftmanship. Magic.
About miinu
When we founded miinu® in 2010, not only did our stomachs tingle, but our synapses burned like fireworks. We could finally do what we wanted: Rugs our way. A love game of the ages.
A liaison between Aphrodite and Miley Cyrus. So centuries-old craftsmanship & clean design kiss in a cozy warm bed of flourishing inspiration.
Handmade
With love hands
Unique dream, this is primarily due to the handwork. miinu rugs remain made by hands. If they are made by machine, too much is lost. For miinu, it is never a matter of going down the quality ladder, but always of going up. It sounds presumptuous, but a high standard needs a high attitude, otherwise it will never work. miinu relies on the arts and the infinite knowledge of the specialists from the traditional carpet factories worldwide: no one can warp better than this one family business in Nepal, no one can dye better than the partners in Portugal, and no one outside the subcontinent has managed the Indian secret methods of natural fiber knotting nearly as finely for centuries. The rugs show this manual love. Even if they are later trampled underfoot.

Whatever you see in your miinu when you give it a thought. The most genuine love from anywhere is guaranteed. Carpet love. From you for him. From him for you. We don’t just say that step it. love it. It says a lot, but still much less than it really is. Because the soul. Works. here. Those who look deeply into it learn to fall in love. To the innermost. The thing that really makes you who you are. Who could have guessed back then that a carpet could make so much float along.
